Tesla's supposed fixation on 3, 6 and 9

popular myth (attributed to Nikola Tesla) · 20th century

An idea spread on social media that Tesla considered 3, 6 and 9 the 'keys to the universe'.

It's often repeated that 'the realm of romance is 3, 6 and 9'. With no documentary backing, it works as a case study: how fast an unsourced number turns into a 'secret'.

There's no reliable source documenting that Tesla had such a fixation; the quoted 'phrase' doesn't appear in his writings. It's the best example of how a recent numerological myth is sold as ancient wisdom.
