Astrological compatibility
Gemini and Virgo
♊ Gemini (Air, Mutable) · ♍ Virgo (Earth, Mutable)
Gemini and Virgo form a square, the aspect of friction: they share a modality but not an element, so both want the same thing in different ways. There's spark and there's clash; it works if they choose it.

Gemini and Virgo in love
In love, Air brings ideas and lightness and Earth brings calm and presence. It works when Air follows through on what it says and Earth opens up to the new.
In friendship and work
In friendship and work, both adapt and change plans easily: lots of flexibility, little direction. Setting goals helps them.
Why they get along this way
Element — Ideas and facts. Air thinks in possibilities and Earth in what can be sustained. Air gives Earth perspective and Earth gives shape to Air's ideas — or they lose patience with each other.
Rhythm. Both are mutable: both adapt. They understand each other's way of moving, but neither makes up for what the other lacks.
Polarity. Gemini is Yang and Virgo is Yin: one goes outward and the other inward, and that balances them or pulls them apart.
Rulers. They share a ruler: Mercury (words and ideas). They care about the same things.
What each one brings
Gemini: communication, curiosity and versatility.
Virgo: attention to detail, analysis and organization.
Where they can clash
Gemini: superficiality, inconstancy and nervousness.
Virgo: perfectionism, high self-expectations and excessive criticism.
How to look after the bond
Pick your fights and agree beforehand on who decides what. Used well, the tension of the square is an engine; used badly, it wears you down.
